The notion of an afterlife involves the belief that some aspect of the individual, such as one's mind or soul, continues to exist after death. Christian faiths believe that based on their sins, they will continue to exist in Heaven or Hell. Other religions believe in an afterlife. There is no proof that an afterlife exists outside of religious texts, such as the Bible, the Qur'an, and the Torah. Phenomena like near-death experiences have been used for supporting it however.
