"Historian Paul Maier notes that “positive evidence within a hostile source is the strongest kind of evidence.” There are several places where we can see a hostile source testifies to the events in the New Testament. [1]"

Counter arguments[edit]

This testimony is recorded in the New Testament, which is not a hostile source but is intended to support Christianity. The authors could make their characters say anything they wished. Reliable testimony comes from primary sources which these claims certainly are not.

This argument is also begging the question that the Bible is true, which automatically implies the resurrection of Jesus.
