Non-canonical books, sometimes called, "Apocrypha" and incorrectly even, "deuterocanonical," are all the books of the bible not accepted by the Catholic church as inspired by god, or by other faith communities as authoritative. However, just what is considered "inspired," and "authoritative," has been hotly debated among Christian and Jewish scholars. This is why there is variety among which books are included in different versions of the bible.
