Talk:I used to be an atheist
Just to remember that ID was just ONE of the reasons that Flew was "converted" to deism... Momergil 05:05, 9 December 2009 (CST)
- Dude, your contributions to this site are becoming dangerously close to trolling. This is not a discussion forum about the details of how much you think such and such an argument contributed to some guy's conversion from atheism to deism. Its is a wiki to discuss whether the argument is actually logically valid and or sound.--Murphy 06:01, 9 December 2009 (CST)
An attempt[edit]
Hi,
This is my first attempt, so I hope I'm not going too far wrong here...
When I saw this article I (just about) immediately thought of the following example: If someone with the "I used to be an atheist" "argument" is countered by the man/woman in front of them claiming "I used to be a woman/man, and think you therefore should undergo a sex-change too.", how do you think they would respond? -- BronzeDome 04:24, 26 December 2010 (CST)
- I like it. [g] Go ahead and add it to the article. - dcljr 17:24, 15 January 2011 (CST)
- Thanks, I feel uncomfortable expressing myself, but have added it. Someone else can make it fit in better. - BronzeDome 03:21, 16 January 2011 (CST)
Real example[edit]
John C. Wright was an atheist and converted to Christianity as a result of persistent and recurring hallucinations in the weeks following a heart attack, combined with some poor reasoning and insufficient research. His blog contains a fuller account. Dhasenan 22:30, 22 September 2012 (CDT)
