Failed template[edit]

I see you tried to use a template copied from another MediaWiki-based wiki. In case you didn't know why it failed, it's because we don't have the required parser functions (#ifdef and the like) on this wiki. We do have a slightly less convenient Template:If that can be used in place of #if, but no templates for #ifdef and #switch. (I don't even know if it's possible to replicate the functionality of those two functions with what we have here.) - dcljr 12:53, 19 November 2007 (CST)

Yeah, it was a pretty lame attempt. I was trying to get a template merge, finally I just grabbed the template for wikify from this wiki and called it a day. No real need to be fancy, just wanted something to say that Jesus fulfilled prophecy is pretty much a dupe of Messianic prophecy, and was feeling adventurous in the realm of cargo cult programming. If you notice when I trashed the template for ambox I used fail summary. Although, actually the wikify and merge templates probably share like 95% of the same info and could be rereferenced to an box template (which would help if those templates needed a change). I tried such a thing with Template:Stub master, which all of the stub templates now use. Of course, that's only for stubs... You can use Iron Chariots Wiki:Sandbox and Template:Sandbox for further experimentation if you want to work on a general-purpose "box" template. BTW, I just deleted Template:Ambox (although I accidentally hit the Enter key before I finished the edit summary — urgh!). In the future you can use {{delete}} to mark any page you want an administrator to delete. - dcljr 01:57, 22 November 2007 (CST)

Section headers[edit]

I've noticed that you haven't been nesting section headers properly in some articles. The first section header in an article should be == Like this ==, with double-equals signs, not triple. Each sub-section level below that should add only one additional equals sign (on each side), like so:

Lead section.
==First section header==
First section.
===Subsection===
Interesting prose.
====Sub-subsection====
More interesting prose.
===Subsection two===
Blah, blah, blah.
==Second main section==
Yada, yada.
==Third main section==
The end.

Note that =Single equals signs= should never be used because the title of the article itself is at that level. - dcljr 14:11, 27 November 2007 (CST)

Hello![edit]

I stumbled over your extensive list of quotes, presumably from the old AA-forum on about.com. Many familiar usernames there, including yours. :) I had a fairly low post-count (with the same or similar(?) username I picked to post here), and I would not expect you to remember me. Anyway, good times, it was an interesting forum, and I was sorry to see it disappear. I guess Petey O'Gee eventually broke the forum? Did the community move on elsewhere?

Anyway, I hope you are alright, especially in these interesting times. Civilian42 (talk) 16:39, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
