Argument from constancy
Some apologists argue their religion is true because it remains constant.
- "Whether you are a Muslim or a person who attacks Islam such as Daniel Pipes, you would agree that Islam has been constant in these changing times. Nothing else has been constant. Muslims still think the old way; the way of the prophets and the way which God has revealed his book."
Constancy is not an indicator of truth. People can adhere to the truth of any book with constancy but it remains fictional.
Also, the religion in the argument is usually an offshoot of earlier religions. A truly constant religion would have no innovation throughout all recorded history, not just since its founding.
