Christianity

The Bible does not explicitly address pornography, but many consider Matthew 5:27–28 Bible-icon.png to be a prohibition against lustful thoughts.

"Porn is probably the greatest threat to the church in its existence.[1][...] Basically there’s two types of men in the evangelical church — those that watch pornography and those that lie. [...] Right at this moment, there’s never been anything in history that is destroying more churches, more pastors, more marriages, more young people, than pornography. As Chuck Swindoll said, ‘It’s the greatest cancer in the church.’ [...] If we soon don’t have another Wilberforce or a Bonhoeffer to deal with pornography the way that they dealt with slavery and Nazism, we’re in trouble. And right now I don’t see a Wilberforce or a Bonhoeffer on the scene anywhere in the world. [2]"

Josh McDowell

"Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends against chastity because it perverts the conjugal act, the intimate giving of spouses to each other. It does grave injury to the dignity of its participants (actors, vendors, the public), since each one becomes an object of base pleasure and illicit profit for others. It immerses all who are involved in the illusion of a fantasy world. It is a grave offense. Civil authorities should prevent the production and distribution of pornographic materials."

— Catechism of the Catholic Church[3]
"The Internet pornography pandemic has become one of the greatest global threats to children, marriages, families and nations. No one is immune [4]"
