What's the harm in fearing satanic ritual abuse?

Satan as depicted in a 13th century Bible, although is said to take many forms.

Various aspects of culture or past times have been labelled as "Satanic" or accused of "leading people away from religion". At various times, these have included:

• Rock music (possibly containing Satanic messages)
• Harry Potter
• Yoga
• Dungeons & Dragons
• Halloween

There is no evidence that any of these activities are harmful. Mostly, it is scaremongering which conveniently avoids people addressing real problems, such as the moral failure of mainstream religion.
