"Do they not see the birds controlled in the atmosphere of the sky? None holds them up except Allah."

The Qur'an claims humans descended from Adam and Eve. Surah 7:189 Bible-icon.png

"Be careful of your duty to your Lord Who created you from a single soul and from it created its mate and from them twain hath spread abroad a multitude of men and women."

The sun sets at a particular spot[edit]

The Qur'an implies a flat earth:

"Until when he reached the setting of the Sun, he found it set in a spring of murky water. Near it he found a People. We said: "O Zul-qarnain! (Thou hast authority,) either to punish them or to treat them with kindness.""

Surah 18:86 Bible-icon.png

Apologists argue that this is a description of what a sunset subjectively looked like to the observer Zul qarnain and not intended to be taken as a statement of fact. We still use the terminology "sunrise" and "sunset" even though we know the Sun is not moving (relative to the Earth). [1][2]

"I walked hand in hand with the Prophet when the sun was about to set. We did not stop looking at it. The Prophet asked, 'Do you know where the sun goes at sunset?' I replied, 'Allah and His Apostle know better.' He said, 'It travels until it falls down and prostrates Itself underneath the Throne. The angels who are in charge of the sun prostrate themselves, also. The sun asks permission to rise again. It is permitted. Then it will prostrate itself again but this prostration will not be accepted. The sun then says, "My Lord, where do You command me to rise, from where I set or from where I rose?" Allah will order the sun to return whence it has come and so the sun will rise in the west. And that is the interpretation of the statement of Allah in the Qur'an.'" [YâSîn: 38] says 'And the Sun runs on to its place of settlement...'"
