Popular argument[edit]

Article includes this phrase (TWICE!): " Is it likely that so many respected scientists are wrong and a few theologians are right?" The repetition is rhetorical (that is, intentional and used for effect). In both cases it's referring to scientists being wrong about something they presumably have some expertise in. See the counter-apologetics section of Argumentum ad populum and the "discussion" section of Argumentum ad verecundiam (which might need merging into a separate article about expertise?). I agree that it could be phrased better in this article.... - dcljr 17:54, 9 September 2008 (CDT)
