Willard Van Orman Quine (June 25, 1908 - December 25, 2000) was an American analytic philosopher, logician and mathematician. His major contributions in the field of philosophy are usually identified in language acquisition, naturalized epistemology and empiricism. He has had a major influence across disciplines, because of his influence on a significant number of his students at Harvard University.
